Tata Motors had testing a small SUV codenamed HBX in India for a long time and now the company has announced its official name. Tata’s new micro SUV will sold under the name Tata Punch which was introduce at Auto Expo 2020. The Tata Punch will the first SUV to built on the Alpha-ARC and will be built on the company’s Impact 2.0 design language. This is going to be the cheapest SUV in Tata’s line-up, which will be positioned below the Tata Nexon. Tata Motors is about to launch the new Punch Micro SUV in India during the festive season.

Visually, the new Tata Punch pretty much resembles the Baby Safari. With the aggressive front part proving this with Tata’s signature split lighting design. The black panel with the Tata logo has given three tri-arrow patterns around which LED DRLs can seen. Below this, the headlamps have given space, which have been provided with projector lights. The front part of the car comes with heavy cladding and features like a large tri-arrow designed grille and oversized round foglamps.

Tata Motors has added cladding to the entire profile with the upcoming punch that is visible on the square wheel arches and side underbody. Apart from sporty dual-tone alloy wheels and roof rails. The Tata Punch is offer in a two-colour paint scheme that originally appear in blue with white roof and black on the pillars. Tata has not yet revealed the rear of the car. But according to the leaked photo and the glimpse released by the company. The rear of the car will offered with small wraparound LED taillamps, sculpted tailgate and plenty of cladding on the bumpers.
The technical details of Tata Punch have also not revealed.
However, it is likely to get the 1.2-litre Revetron petrol engine that is also being offer in Tata’s premium hatchback Altroz. This petrol engine makes 85 Bhp power and 113 Nm peak torque. The company can offer the car’s engine as a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox as an option. Once launched in the Indian market, the Tata Punch will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and possibly the Renault Kwid.
